Sunlit Sanctuary Yoga Studio A calm place to begin your practice

Frequently asked questions

I've never done yoga before — will I be lost?

No. Your teacher will guide you through every pose with clear, simple instruction. You'll see other students around you for reassurance, and you can always ask your teacher to show you a gentler version of anything that doesn't feel right. Everyone starts somewhere, and we're used to welcoming complete beginners.

What do I need to bring to my first class?

Just yourself and comfortable clothes you can move in. We have yoga mats and props available, so you don't need to buy anything. If you prefer your own mat, feel free to bring it. Arrive a few minutes early so you can settle in without rushing.

Is my first class really free?

Yes. We offer one free first class for anyone new to Sunlit Sanctuary, no hidden costs or follow-up pressure. We want you to experience the studio, meet your teacher and decide if yoga feels right for you — all without any risk or commitment.

What's the difference between the different practices?

Vinyasa is flowing and breath-led, building focus and gentle strength. Yin is slow and deeply stretching, perfect for release. Restorative is fully supported rest for your nervous system. Breathwork teaches specific techniques to calm stress. Meditation is a quiet sit to settle the mind. Start with whichever calls to you — or try them all and see which feels right on any given day.

Can I do yoga if I have an injury or health condition?

Yes, in most cases. Yoga is adaptable, and our teachers are skilled at showing modifications. When you book, let us know about any injuries, joint issues or health conditions you have, and your teacher will guide you safely. If you have a serious condition or have recently had surgery, check with your doctor first.

How often should I come to get the benefit?

Even one class makes a difference. Most students find that coming once or twice a week gives them noticeable benefits in focus, calm and how their body feels. Some come daily, others once a month. What matters is showing up when you can and being present when you do.

Do I need to be flexible or fit to do yoga?

Not at all. Yoga meets you exactly where you are. Flexibility, strength and fitness all develop naturally through practice — they're not requirements to start. Many of our students came to yoga thinking they weren't flexible or fit enough, and those doubts faded within a few classes.
